The Greeting Card Aisle Needed Help, That's Why Petty Paper exists.

Hear me out, every greeting card aisle looks the same. Watercolor sunset, some cursive font, and a message so vague it could be for your grandma, your coworker, or a stranger you accidentally made eye contact with on the bus. Let's be real, the greeting card asile has failed you.

I got tired of looking at cards that were trying way too hard to be special with glitter, pop-ups, and enough embellishments to qualify as a craft project, while somehow saying absolutely nothing. Then I’m left with a giant blank space where I’m supposed to write the actual sentiment like a hostage note.

So I started Petty Paper Studio. To make greeting cards and stationery for people who have something specific to say and absolutely no interest in softening it with a watercolor sunset.

I’m a designer by training, which means I’ve spent most of my career making things look intentional, even when they’re held together with tape and spite. Turns out, that skill works pretty well for making cards. A good petty card is basically a tiny, well-designed argument: make the point, make it look good, and don’t apologize for it in the footer.

Every card starts the same way. Something petty happens to me, a friend, or someone in the group chat, and I can’t find a card that says it quite right. So I make one. That’s still pretty much the entire product roadmap.

If you’ve ever needed a card that says “congrats, I guess” or “sorry your ex is still like that,” you’re probably the exact person I’m making these for.

Well, this is the first entry but I’ll be using this space to talk about what I'm learning, what I’m working on, and the various petty little disputes that somehow turn into new card ideas.

Stick around. Or better yet, go find the card you’ve been looking for and never found in the greeting card aisle. You just might find the card (or gift) they deserve.
